PageDigest moved from release candidate to v1.0 on July 8. The protocol’s version 1 wire format is final: a site revision, per-URL revisions, and optional digests in /.well-known/pagedigest.json.
September 17 update: generator/launcher 0.3.0 and Python/Astro 0.2.0 are released. They add explicit publisher-state initialization and recovery, incomplete-cache handling, and audit work even when a manifest returns HTTP 304. The project page now shows complete cold, warm, and changed-content synchronization against pagedigest.org, alongside the comparative benchmark and its limits. The wire format remains version 1.
The generator, Python consumer, and Astro integration have their own package versions, listed in the version matrix.
The earlier July 8 replay compares two manifests with the reference consumer and reports one changed page and three unchanged pages. It remains available as a historical example.
The limits still apply. Revisions are publisher declarations. Consumers can audit digests, and they need a fallback when the manifest is missing or malformed. An omitted URL in a partial manifest is not evidence that the page stayed unchanged.
